This is a wedding I shot back in May of this year and the engagement session was in early February. Both were before I launched this blog. So, I figured, why not post about it right before their first Thanksgiving as a married couple?

I met Candice almost 10 years ago when Craig, her Father, introduced me to her. I had only ever heard him call her Candi, so that is what I have always called her. I don’t think she goes by it much anymore but she is always going to be Candi to me. After Craig passing away a few years back, Candi and I kept in touch. So, I was completely humbled when she asked me about photos for her engagement and wedding.

For her wedding gift, I gave her an engagement session. She decided that she wanted to have the shoot at her Dad’s cabin. Which is a meaningful place for both of us. I had only been there once since Craig’s passing. But, this time everything hit me for some reason…especially once Candi arrived. I loved the shots we got from that day and it was nice to meet Jason before the wedding.

Candi and Jason held their wedding at Parker Homestead in Harrisburg, Arkansas. The place has a very open rustic feel and it photographed beautifully. The day was a little overcast, which made it great for photography in general. My goal was to simply capture real moments from the day. I wanted Candi to have something that she could look back on and relive her day.

Candi was gorgeous, as she always is. And, Jason had it going on too, I have to admit. I stole them away from the crowd after the ceremony for a few shots alone. And then, they cut the cake after we returned from our mini-shoot. It was a fun day, I enjoyed seeing Candi and Jason so happy. It was an honor to have the responsibility of capturing the memories of their day. I wish them the very best!
